Bones is a short experimental film exploring the mental illness ‘Anorexia Nervosa’. The film highlights the unamed girls obsession with being able to see and feel her bones through her skin. Inspired by chiaroscuro lighting, the sound and imagery is designed to make the viewer feel uncomfortable. With the audio being used to represent the sound of her bones moving under her skin, a constant snap and crackle to highlight the fragility of her body.
The short film features animation used to enhance the story, adding a additional layer to the experimental nature of the film.
In 2019 ‘Bones’ was selected for the BFI short film SCENE Programme, that showcased some of the 14 best short films in the Southwest Region.
